"We’ve rescued our Toyota, a Jeep, a brand new Defender (a guy who had all the gear but no idea) and of course, the MAXTRAX have made us feel more confident in going places we’d previously not have attempted. We’ve driven through the desert, the mud, the beach and the bush. Just Brilliant."

"We finally got to use them when our son got bogged in the sunset country a couple of months ago. He was there for a couple of hours alone trying to get out, called us, and my husband and other son went out to pull him out, but he didn't tell them on the phone how bad he was bogged. When they got there they tried winching for ages then our other son got bogged, so my husband called home for me to bring the MAXTRAX in to a mate in Mildura, so he could take them to him. When he got there with them, 2 sets, they were straight out. "

"I recently returned from a solo excursion into the Simpson Desert, only a few days before the end of the 2011 season. My goal was to climb Big Red, but with so much water around following recent rains, I wasn't even sure if I was going to make to the bottom of Big Red, let alone the top! I got bogged three times within 24 hours - one of which took three hours to self recover. On each occasion, MAXTRAX saved the day. I did not see another vehicle the entire time I was in the Simpson, and without any trees to winch off, it was MAXTRAX to the rescue each time. I have no doubt that without MAXTRAX I would have been on the sat phone back to Birdsville and up for a very expensive recovery.
Thanks MAXTRAX!"
Chris, Paramedic, NSW, December 2011.
"As a current MAXTRAX owner of a number of years with my private 4x4 vehicle, I have had the opportunity to utilize your product on a number of occasions in varied 4x4 recovery situations with positive outcomes on each application.
Yesterday, we attend a Patient who had had a farm accident in a remote location that required a 4x4 Ambulance. Whilst exiting the area we became bogged in wet granite sand country, with the entire passenger side of the vehicle bogged to the side rails, our 4x4 Ambulance is equipped with an electric winch and the necessary recovery equipment to affect a recovery in most situations, in addition the Paramedics on this occasion were certified in its use. A bystander with a modified 4x4 who attempted to bring his vehicle into a recovery position also became bogged to a far greater degree than ourselves.
The bystander produced a set of MAXTRAX from his vehicle stating he had only used them in sand but we where welcome to use them. Having had personal experience with MAXTRAX in wet sandy mud we used them in conjunction with the vehicle's winch to extricate our vehicle by providing a ramp up out off the boggy ground. We then used the MAXTRAX a few hundred metres further down the track in their traditional manner to extricate the Ambulance when again we became bogged.
The real advantage is, unlike the electric winch and other recovery equipment we believe to be essential recovery hardware, the MAXTRAX has no moving parts or equipment under duress with potential harmful out comes if used incorrectly, and has the ability to be a rapidly deployed recovery device that may make a real difference to our patients outcome forgoing the prolonged time frame to set up a safe winching operation."

"My motto is “The Remote Outback…Tracks Less Traversed”. As a specialized Off Road Tour Operator, I was enthused when I read about MAXTRAX at the time they were first released, so I asked my wife to buy 2 (meaning 1 pair). When they arrived I was concerned to find she had acquired two pairs!! Soon after I was touring in the Simpson Desert, struggling to pull the trailer over powdery dune tops – the four MAXTRAX came to my rescue & the customers were very pleased my wife had brought two pairs, when I related the above story.
On subsequent tours into the Simpson, I thought it prudent to have a MAXTRAX for each wheel, so I now have six. This acquisition proved very beneficial on my second tour through Boggy Hole, in the Finke Gorge National Park, this year. After a year’s rain denying access through Finke Gorge, I was carrying Canadians on the 1st May, and after walking across upstream section of Boggy Hole Billabong, I decided to attempt to drive through the water along the track alignment not used for over a year. ‘Mistake’! The rear left wheel dropped into a quicksand mire. An hour later I reached the opposite bank after using Kangaroo Jack, shovel & six MAXTRAX to the utter delight of my English & Canadian customers.
This incident highlights the marvel of MAXTRAX as a recovery device, as my vehicle is not fitted with a winch, which has concerned some customers. On occasions when I have been bogged and extracted myself with the aid of MAXTRAX, astute customers have remarked that a winch would have been useless as there was no anchorage within cooee. (I travel solo.)"

"On behalf of the 30 or so people I’ve saved so far with MAXTRAX, I would like to say thanks for such a fantastic product. Shame that mine is showing wear yet I’ve not used them myself just yet. Nearly everybody that we help always asks for info on how to buy them etc, I point them in the direction of your website or the local BCF or Supercheap Auto. I came across another family whilst at Bribie Island last weekend and I had to help them yet again and they advised that they forgot what the product was that I previously helped them with. I would be more than happy to hand some brochures/promo items out when I’m telling everyone how good this product is."
Juergen, Dortmund, Germany, August 2011.
"...we took off to our adventure, the crossing of the Simpson Desert along the Hay River and the French Line. During our eight days' trip through the Simpson, we got bogged twice, but our MAXTRAX saved the day. We would definitely not go into the Simpson without them. MAXTRAX are a vital safety item, especially if you're traveling with just one vehicle in remote regions."
Ben, Perth, WA, August 2011.
"I have used MAXTRAX in Ethiopia, out in the Danakil Depression, on our work vehicles (that are fitted out by Minecorp) and they will be one of the first things I will be buying for my own vehicle, as they saved my proverbial several times out there.."
Emily Miller, Rod Hall Racing, USA, June 2011.
"After testing many different traction devices and sand ladders, there is no question that MAXTRAX are head and shoulders above the competition. MAXTRAX are lightweight, durable and shockingly effective. After putting them to the test in just about every situation, including running stock trucks through the most daunting dunes of the Sahara, I will never drive off-road without them."
Sean, Hindmarsh, South Australia, June 2011.
"Hey, thanks for sending me over the MAXTRAX, they really work! I've just had my driveway at home replaced with brick paving and the little lady's VW Golf was bogged down to the sills in the sand. MAXTRAX to the rescue! Extracted her without a snatch strap in sight. Yes I know it's not a classic recovery anecdote but nevertheless you know they've been put to good use!"
Gary, Seisia, Cape York, Queensland, Australia, May 2011.
"I'm a lone traveler with a fully-laden 200 Landcruiser and Crossover camper trailer; total weigh 5.5 tonnes. MAXTRAX got me out of a 'down to the axles' sticky marsh in the Jardine River National Park on dark, and two days later out of super soft dry sand at a creek mouth that took three repositions but worked fine. Haven't had to use my winch yet. I've been seriously offroading in sand and mud since 1974 and these are the simplest and easiest system I have come across. Great product, well done. I am going to buy a second set when I get to Cairns."
Col, Roper River, Northern Territory, Australia, May 2011.
"MAXTRAX saved us from a lot of grunting, swearing, cussin' etc, last week when we went on a fishing trip on the Roper River. We got properly bogged!"
Alec, Australia, May 2011.
"I'm just having a say that I'm really really impressed with your product. I recovered 2 vehicles within 10 minutes and I have to say it is a great design and I am very happy with it!! 10/10 on this product!!"
Scott, Sagle, Idaho, USA, May 2011.
"As a word of note, your product is awesome! I was unbelievably stuck in snow this past Saturday! I have a large heavy truck and two 10,000lbs winches couldn't get me out! I dug for a while and your ladders got me out with the assistance of the winches! Not two hours later, on out way out from the snow, I got stuck once again in slick gooey mud in a pouring rainstorm! Once again my friend's MAXTRAX got me out! Hence the reason I so hastily am ordering my own sets. I will never leave home without them again!"
Craig and Kimberley, Gympie, Queensland, Australia, March 2011.
"On our last trip through Carnarvon we had on board a set of MAXTRAX (which I may add took a somewhat had sell to the Minister for War and Finance). In the deserted section of Ka Ka Mundi we experienced some difficulty in loose sand and I set about proving the validity of the purchase of the MAXTRAX. Off the roof and within minutes out and back on the track, yes we have an 8000lb winch fitted to the vehicle but the MAXTRAX were so quick so easy and so effective. Another vehicle had course to call on the MAXTRAX a few days later in the Salvator Rosa section of the park and yes he too is now sold on them. May I congratulate you and your company for a terrific robust quality product which is so time saving and easy to use."
David, Kilsyth South, Victoria, Australia, March 2011.
"I just had to put "pen to paper" and provide some feedback on MAXTRAX. In the Victorian High Country last weekend, it had rained overnight, so on returning home, we encountered some recently graded bush tracks/roads that had been turned into a slippery and sloppy mess. Whilst traversing a bend on an uphill section, the vehicle understeered (perhaps a little too much right foot !!) and came to a halt in the soft graded dirt on the side of the road. Being an uphill gradient, traction was nigh impossible, particulary with a tonne of camper trailer hanging off the back. Whilst arrangements were made with our travelling companions ahead of us to return with extra snatch and winch extension straps, we thought we would give the MAXTRAX a go. I was amazed at how well they worked. We fed them under the back wheels because that was where the most weight was and through trying both front and back, the best results were to be had. On each application, we were able to gain 3 or 4 metres before the spinning wheels halted our forward progress again. We repeated this process about 6 times until finally the vehicle could gain enough traction to get underway again. I now feel confident in the knowledge that our MAXTRAX perform as stated and they will get us out of strife when needed.
This was the first time we have had to use the MAXTRAX, but they really saved us from what could have been a protracted recovery process. To my mind, they paid for themselves there and then. They were somewhat of a pain to clean when we got home, but what a small price to pay in the big scheme of things !!"
Joakim, Queensland, Australia, February 2011.
"Up at Murphys Creek helping out with the post flooding cleanup, the Federal Police got into a sticky situation so I brought over my MAXTRAX to the rescue, rather than the boys getting muddy feet.
I used them 5x that weekend for myself and others, the silt was the stickiest mud I've encountered.
Now when the army came over and bogged themselves in a 15 Tonne Bushmaster I thought about it for about a microsecond before walking away, too expensive to destroy them on that weight.... so no MAXTRAX there, took them hours to get out the conventional way! That Bushmaster has a huge winch and they still couldn't winch themselves back to solid ground."
Kevin & Nicola, Adelaide, South Australia, February 2011.
"After seeing your product demonstrated on TV, we purchased one set as a precaution for a recent beach camping holiday at Coffin Bay Nat Park over Christmas. We were so pleased that we did - after a week of constant holiday traffic the sandy track that we had entered the park on was cut up beyond belief when it came time for use to leave. Despite low pressure in the tyres and low range, we still got bogged. Thankfully the MAXTRAX were on the roof rack and we quickly had them under and tyres and on our way out of the bog! We were not the only ones to benefit as we help two more campers who came through the same stretch behind us - guess what? They were off to buy MAXTRAX for themselves once they got home! A great product for all 4x4 enthusiasts, both experienced and novice! ...only thought to grab the camera after we were out and on solid ground. As is often the case, it doesn’t really show how bad the sand was – oh and did I mention it was 44 degrees? We were towing a trailer and both other sets of people we helped out were towing boats. We had only been able to buy one set as our local BCF only had one set left when I went to get them. The remarkable thing was that even with the trailers, the MAXTRAX still worked, just by using them on the front tyres!
Thanks for an awesome product!"
Bruce, AcrossOZ, Queensland, Australia, January 2011.
"I just wanted to let you know that the MAXTRAX came through with flying colours for the trip and we simply could not have done it without them. Incredibly in the 14,500 km journey, we only had to use them once, but gee we were glad we had them when the ute got well and truly bogged on the Birdsville Track."
Hugh, Queensland, Australia, January 2011.
"Just a short email to say thanks for making this product . My Maxi's have gotten me out of so many bad situations, I have had them for three years now and even after all the work they have done they are in great condition and are the first thing that goes in the truck when heading bush . Thanks again, nice work and have a wonderful year.
Nick, Victoria, Australia, January 2011.
"Hey guys, I just wanted to say that your MAXTRAX are amazing; it has saved me many times"
Ben, Moab, Utah, USA, January 2011.
"I just wanted to take a second to thank you again for your amazing product. Your product has gotten me out of some pretty impossible situations. I use them quite frequently and recommend them to all of my friends and clients. If you have any new products that you would like displayed at the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, please let me know. I would be happy to endorse any of your amazing inventions!"
Robert, Victoria, Australia, September 2010.
"What I like about MAXTRAX is the safety and ease of use. Where we'd snatch, now we can drive out. Where we'd have to take time to winch, again we can drive out. I like MAXTRAX so much I even bought a car to match!"
Brendan, Queensland, Australia, August 2010.
"...thanks for making a fantastic product that has saved my bacon a few times."
David, Mt Dare Hotel, Outback South Australia, July 2010.
"Back in May MAXTRAX came in very handy. It took an hour to get out of the K-1 Salt Lake, but I don’t think I could have done it without them. I always carry them for my desert recoveries."
Evan, Lake Eucumbene, NSW, June, 2010.
"Your product is pure gold.
I fish/4wd/camp regularly and use 2 sets of MAXTRAX to make a temp boat ramp (lanching in falling dams) and never get bogged in the first place.
Last trip... some clown(Prado 2900kg) came down.. drove down a frozen spring.. sunken. Suctioned.
Mate (Hilux 2700kg) went down to pull him out using 2 joined snatch straps. Ground had thawed so he sunk. He's not a fool so gassed off the moment it started to dig in.
I went down to pull him out (Vitara 1350kg). Sunk. Reverse onto MAXTRAX, snatch forward. 6 goes later, get my mate out of the bog.
6am when ground is frozen next day, mate hooks up to Prado, measures strap so will be on MAXTRAX when hits tension.
2 snatches and clown is free.
No drama, no damage to vehicles. Having a solid traction base when traction hits also means less snatch force can be used, resulting in a lesser chance of broken axles, bent chassis and other problems you can get with recovery.
Right gear. Right method. No worries.
Cleaning the mud out out of the divots when it's below freezing can be a bit ordinary, but beats cleaning mud out of the air vents."
Mark and Allison, Egypt, April, 2010.
On one our desert forays where Mark pulled of the asphalt to get some photos, we got bogged. Now let it be said that Allison, atop a 20+ metre sand dune taking photos, discouraged him from driving up the dune for a better photo. But Mark, ever the poser, started up the dune, and a quarter of the way up stopped for his pic. Pic taken, Mark then turned to head down, but the sand was soft, and the wheels sunk in, going deeper until Mark stopped the poor bogged Chief. Gung-ho and excited about his first bog, Mark jumped out, and once shovel was in hand, started digging. MAXTRAX in place under the wheels, diff locks turned on, forward ho... we lurched forward for a few metres, until the MAXTRAX ran out from the other side of the wheel and we sunk again into the sand. Not quite so gung-ho this time (he was in a sweat by now from the digging, it was about 34' according to The Chief's gauge) Mark got out again, and did the same process again. Luckily this time the sand hardened after coming off the MAXTRAX and we were able to gain enough momentum to sail on through.
So our first use of the MAXTRAX (which Mark had his heart set on having heard positive things about them whilst in London and wanting to support Australian made products), and we are sold. The teeth on the MAXTRAX makes them grip onto the wheels with ease, so we have confidence now in more desert or mud driving. The longest part of getting unstuck was Mark having to break one of the locks we had secured the MAXTRAX with (damn salt again!) We're also relieved that the bright orange beacons that so attract interest from locals (and occasional ridicule from other overlands, okay, so we're not the most colour co-ordinated, at least we're not stuck in the Sahara!). So chest-beating moment over after his first bog, Mark is happy with both the MAXTRAX and the diff lock. And no, we are not sponsored by MAXTRAX, just glad to have bought what so far we think is a quality product.
Frank, Sweden, March 2010. - "I have used my MAXTRAX the first time in the snow of the nothern part of Sweden. I was on the way to a meteorologigal met mast and I sticked into the deep snow. Half a year before I decieded to buy two MAXTRAX and this was the first time I used them. I came out without any bigger problems. It is a really good system."
Ben, Baltimore, USA, February 2010. - "... over the past month we had a meter and a half of snow. I volunteer as a driver bringing in doctors and essential staff to a local hospital. Most of the roads became a single track and the roads were so bad a snow emergency closed all roads in Baltimore. On those single tracks a lot of trucks got stuck, blocking the road. I used the MAXTRAX over 20 times getting the roads free to make it through. I used it on everything from a Hummer from the National Guard to a Post truck in our neighborhood. I didn't have to use a snatch strap once. I even came across someone who was so stuck her engine bay lining material caught fire when transmission fluid boiled over. We put out the flames, let it cool down and she pulled right out with MAXTRAX."
Nick, Saudi Arabia, January 2010. - "Just got back from Oman and a crossing of the Wahbia Sands. My friends' Landcruiser kept getting stuck and I put my two pairs of MAXTRAX to full use for a couple of days. Fantastic product. They just work, brilliantly. I love them. My winch now feels rejected."
Ben & Lisa, Ringwood, VIC, December 2009. - "We just returned from Fraser Island. Not only did our MAXTRAX save us from the high tide, it saved at least three other vehicles, including a tour bus. We would not be without them. You cannot buy a better, stronger, more durable or reliable product. Highly recommended and paid for themselves over and over again."
Greg, Engadine, NSW, April 2009. - "What a great product you have invented. As it turns out I did end up getting my Landcruiser bogged quite deeply on Fraser Island and with very little 4x4 driving experience it was comforting to know we had a set of MAXTRAX in the back of the car that should save us (going by the brochure). Well as it turns out, everything you advertise about this product is true and it was only a matter of minutes before we were out of this situation and on our way. Thanks for a great product and although only used the once on this trip, that "once" got us out of what could have been a very nasty situation."
Jeurgen, 4WD Novice, Dortmund, Germany, May 2009. - "We purchased a pair of MAXTRAX for our trip through the Simpson Desert last year. We travelled the whole length of the French Line – learning to drive in the sand the hard way. We were really impressed by the excellent performance of our MAXTRAX. Being novices, we got bloody bogged in the dune tops many times, but the MAXTRAX got us out again and again. I highly recommend this valuable equipment for any remote area travelling in Oz. No matter if you’re stuck in the sand or in the mud – this fantastic equipment will save you a lot of digging time. Being a volunteer fire fighter, I would especially recommend MAXTRAX to all emergency services in the outback. Our next trip starts end of May. This time the MAXTRAX will be seen in action along the Canning Stock Route. I have already advised our friends in our second vehicle to purchase a second pair of MAXTRAX."
Mike, Argentina, South America, January 2009. - "All wheel drive and tire pressure at 25 lbs; cruised along nicely until we hit a soft spot and sank up to our hubs. The tide was coming in and the guy with me was quite nervous about being stuck up to the hubs with the tide coming in. He got out and started shoveling. Meanwhile I got out the max trax and placed them under each tire as shown in the video--nothing fancy, just placed them under the tires. As described in the video, I gently started out. Next thing I knew I was out! From being stuck in wet sand up to the hubs to being out in 10 seconds; we were all quite amazed. It happened so fast that we didn't get good pictures of the rig rolling over the MAXTRAX. I thought I'd go about 30 metres and then get stuck again, but I had enough momentum to keep on moving through the wet sand and back to the dry sand. I stopped after about 1/4 mile to let my friend and daughter catch up with me. We were all totally amazed at how easy it was to get out. My friend easily carried the 4 MAXTRAX from the spot we got stuck to the spot I stopped. It was truly an amazing experience. Before I left Denver, I realized I didn't have room for all my recovery gear. I had a Pull Pal, a rear winch and the MAXTRAX that were candidates for the trip. I chose to take MAXTRAX and left the Pull Pal and the rear winch in Denver. Glad I chose the MAXTRAX; I was truly grateful and amazed at how easy it was to get unstuck, especially since the rig weighs 15,000 lbs and was sunk up to the hubs in wet sand!"
Richard, Earth Trek 08, Outback South Australia. January 2009. - "The MAXTRAX performed exceptionally well, so good in fact that on this occasion the winch was not used."
David, Mt Dare Hotel, Outback South Australia. March 2008 - "I received the MAXTRAX ... just before I left for the Simpson (Desert). My F-250 had an electrical problem which wouldn’t allow it to select 4WD...Ploughing through soft sand in 2WD with 1500kg on the back was no easy task; the MAXTRAX came in very handy to help my disabled ute get through, using them 10 times at least. "
Greg, Brisbane, QLD. February 2008 - "As we were heading off to Fraser Island again this year and having been fully stuck last year at Indian Head at 7:00 pm one night in extremely soft sand (no rain for some months) with two dingos circling us (our two sons decided to down shovels and bolted for safety of the inside of the car) leaving me to dig us out slowly over an hour - well I was taking no chances this trip and I purchased a set of MAXTRAX. When it came to it, it was my brother-in-law who got stuck at Eli Creek so we applied his MAXTRAX (I suggested to him that this was a must-have accessory) as prescribed to extract him, since he had forgotten to engage 4WD - application was as shown and they worked a real treat, exactly as promised. What an excellent idea - I fully recommend MAXTRAX ... an excellent product with practical applications. Well done !!!! "
Phil, Murray Bridge, SA. February 2008 - "we bought a set of MAXTRAX at the Dubbo Caravan and Camping show last year (my wife Sandy insisted I buy them as we have had our fun on the sand at times). Until this year we haven’t needed them but were doing a tour with our customers across the Anne Beadell Highway then down to Nullabor and along the coast where possible to Ceduna then up Goog’s Track and back to our start point, Mt Ive station. Heading along the beach from Mexican Hat to Fowlers Bay with our convoy of 12 vehicles the lead vehicle encountered soft sand and called the convoy to a halt. 3 vehicles were already bogged so as Tail End Charley and recovery vehicle, we went to the front to assist and although much lighter, got bogged as well, mainly due to tyre pressures. We got all but two of the vehicles mobile by deflating but then used our MAXTRAX to get our vehicle out, then the other out twice. Macca and Karen of Red-Desert Tours (Our Tour leaders) were so impressed at the end of the trip that they confiscated them from the top of our vehicle and advised us to buy a new set and bill them! "
Brendan, Hervey Bay, QLD. January 2008 - "While on Fraser Island we helped out a Troopcarrier loaded with backpackers with the MAXTRAX, they worked a treat. It still amazes me how good they work!"
Dean, Melbourne, VIC. December 2007 - "I bought a set of maxtrax at the 4x4 expo in Melbourne, and I would just like to say how wonderful they are. I got incredibly bogged at Robe in South Australia and the MAXTRAX got me out every time. In one stretch of the beach I had to use the MAXTRAX about 50 times. Thanks again for such a great invention."
Jane and John, Perth, WA. April 2007 - "Please pass on how impressed I am by your company's service. It was fantastic and I went happily off to play with the MAXTRAX for the week. Very impressed with the weight and size as both of us are not very big and I can get them on the roof rack of our Landcruiser 79 series trayback without any trouble at all. We have the Trayon camper on our vehicle which is also a Brisbane manufacturer. Must be something in the air that makes you lot so innovative!"
Ray & Maree, Tarranyark, VIC. April 2007 - "They really work well, very impressed. We were going up a huge sand dune made it to the top but bottomed out on the peak. We used the MAXTRAX and out we came, easy! So, we are very happy with our MAXTRAX purchase, and they are now a permanent fixture on our Landcruiser."
Mark, Landsborough, QLD. April 2007 - "Just a thankyou note for a great product. Just got back from 1 week on Moreton Island with my campertrailer and Suzuki Grand Vitara V6 06' model (pretty low ground clearance), MAXTRAX got me out of trouble about 6 times. It was quiet on the island and I did not see any help in some spots, e.g. late arvo at the desert where I bottomed out. They are worth their weight in gold if they get you out of trouble, as they did me."
