- MAXTRAX is the lightweight, easy-to-use vehicle recovery and extraction device thats easily carried by almost anything with four-wheels ensuring an easy way out if your vehicle becomes stuck.
- MAXTRAX takes the drama out of getting stuck. The aggressive large cleats on MAXTRAX sink their teeth into the tyre tread and the terrain under your 4WD vehicle to prevent it from slipping back into mud, snow, or sand and make vehicle recovery quick and easy.
- MAXTRAX is the perfect fit for every outing. Measuring just 1150mm long X 330mm wide x 85mm tall (45 inches long X 13 inches wide), each set of MAXTRAX stacks together at a height of just 85mm (3.5 inches). MAXTRAX stows easily with the rest of your car camping, overlanding, or four-wheel drive touring gear.
- Made of UV-stabilized, flexible, super toughengineering-grade reinforced nylon, MAXTRAX provides traction and a firm base to get your vehicle quickly back on track. They have been tested at the University of Queensland to wrap completely around a 33-inch tire without breaking.
- Each MAXTRAX weighs just 3.4 kilograms (7.5 pounds). MAXTRAX is easy to carry and thanks to its signature double-edged design, its easy and quick to manoeuvre under your tires.
- MAXTRAX have six comfortable built-in handles and a shovel at either end for removing excess earth to help get you unstuck quicker. They also have exclusive keyhole accessory points to allow you to securely mount your MAXTRAX.

They got me out of the s#*t beside a river in Tasmania
While exploring in Tasmania we decided to find a nice spot for the Mrs and I to have lunch. We were travelling along a dirt road near Mathinna when we saw a track head off down beside a river, its bound to be nice. As expected it was the idillic spot, clear running water, a beautiful day and no one else in sight. You could even say the perfect romantic spot. I drove down onto the sand infront of the water to get a closer look. Yep, this is perfect , I'll back the car up and set up our chairs. I went into reverse and the Landcruiser just went straight down. First rookie mistake was I didn't think how soft the sand was. Second rookie mistake was I couldn't use the winch forward as the river was way too deep. Any trees to winch from were a fair way behind plus the car was facing forward in the wrong direction. It was then I was so glad that I had my four Maxtrax on the car. I dug some sand away laid the Maxtrax then reversed. Down we went again. I dug some more and repositioned the Maxtrax. I ended up having to move the Maxtrax four times before we eventually hit solid ground. They saved me and thankfully got us out in time we could still enjoy that lunch...just a little later then expected.

The best get out jail tool ever...
Used often when 4x4 driving around Auss. Used mostly for sand. I do not need a winch when I have these. My previous 4x4 had a winch and I never used it. Maxtrax does the job...

Need to carry 4 and not just 2
I have had the standard orange set of 2 now for a number of years and luckily only used a few times. A couple of those times I really needed 4 to get out of sand bogs and luckily had others come to the rescue. My suggestion is depending on your situation you should budget for 4. I like the look of the new light weight set albeit they are only 895 mm length but I think this is more than an acceptable size and especially if you have 4 also much easier to cart around with your gear.

I love my turquoise MaxTrax. They are honestly a must have for any off-road journey. So easy to use and so instantly effective when you do need them. I chose the turquoise colour as it reminds me of the ocean and easy to see in the sand/mud for recovery. I've had mine for 3years now and they look brand new, wouldn't even consider another brand.!
